If an ISP institutes a charge that is similar to charging for cell phone minutes, do you think it would effect what you do on the Internet? Why or why not?
no! if the ISP charged us like if we where using a cell phone, nothing would ever get done because people would be worried about how much money they are spending per minute while just sitting on the computer doing homework or work. some people spend hours on the computer just fooling around and web surfing, and if they had to pay for every minute that they used they would be spending millions in a month. this would also effect every website on the internet because people wouldnt have enough time or money to surf the web to find websites. some business might even have to close down just because the charge the ISP would make, which would follw by people not being on the internet so much to be able to save money.
It will definatly affect the way i use the internet. Just like minutes being charged on my cellphone effect the way i use my phone. It will make me choose what i do on the internet more carefully because i know i am being charged.
if the ISP was to charge for usage people would probably use the internet much less. If you didn't have unlimited, whenever you are on the intenet you would actually want to use your time more wisely.
It will most defenatly affect me they way i use the internet to contact my family or friends and look up jobs that are opening or just me searching for information for school. It will make me worried about what i should do that is most important on the internet trying to figure out how many minutes it will take for me to find information on a class
I do believe that if the internet is charged just like the minutes from a cell phone company it will affect and many people will probably used only if is necessayr for example bills payments, school work, employements web site. Definitely the number of views of entertainment web sites will lower. Rocio Almeida
Well people wont be surfing the web anymore because if your getting charged people are going to start worring about he bill there going to get.The internet wouldnt be as popular as it is today if they were to charge you. I would only go on if I needed something important if im getting charged.
Yes, i do think that this would change my internet usage. Instead of just jumping on the internet for browsing, I would only get on the internet when it was necessary.
it would affect me because I would be worried about how much money I will spend every month for using the internet and I would limited my time in the computer.
If my ISP charged me for every minute I used the internet, I would definitely reduce the amount of time I spend on the computer to save money. It might also affect my choice in taking any online classes. Paying-by-the-minute would affect the purpose of e-mailing, blogging, researching, and the convenience of the internet.
If an ISP charged by the minute people would spend less time surfing the internet and more time worrying about their minutes. Of course some smart person would find a way around it and just may create something like a Metro PCS, with one fee for unlimited mintues on the web. __ L.Long
If ISP's charged per minute to go online it would reduce the amount of time alot of people spend on the internet. I download huge files for work and they take a long time to finish, so if the ISP were charging by minute it would make me lose money to complete my work.
charging the internet as we are charge for the cell phone that would be in disadvantage of people because would limit the time people spend on the internet drasticly. We get so used with the internet that we can be 24/7 loged.imagine how much money we would have to pay for that kind of service
The web is free. so anything free peole like to take advantage of.So if the web charges as a cell phone it would be less surfing the internet for fun it would be strikely work related or important tasks. Burnette

if Isp charged by the minute people will sufer so they spend more on the internet. Civil
ReplyDeletePaying for this would deter many people from using it. I would not pay for minutes on an ISP. Heidi Jean
